A couple weekends ago Clay and I joined MamaRose and her family at the Heartland Festival. It was a fantastic family outing. The hosts, vendors and volunteers were all very warm and welcoming. I was very impressed with how welcomed I felt. There were many activities for children of all ages to do from propagating flowers, bat boxes, hemp necklaces, cracking corn for chicken food and painting flower pots. Clay spent most of his day at the petting zoo trying to herd the piglets, touching the train (yes actual train cars on display) and drinking Hey Honey Lemonade. It was a scorching hot day that remained surprising pleasant due to the community of people participating in and volunteering at this wonderful event. I look forward to returning next year. Thank you Double T, Eco Farm and the Heartland Project.
